Trading Manager

Role Summary

Oil trading company is seeking an experienced Trading Manager to join their fast-growing team and lead the trading function. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on commercial responsibility, driving profitable growth, developing market opportunities, and building a high-performing trading team.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute the company’s trading strategy in line with commercial objectives and risk appetite.

* Lead and manage the trading team, setting clear targets and overseeing performance.

* Take responsibility for the trading book’s P&L, positions, and overall commercial results.

* Identify new business opportunities across products, markets, and counterparties.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers, and other industry partners.

* Negotiate commercial terms and oversee the execution of physical oil and petroleum product transactions.

* Monitor market developments, pricing trends, and supply and demand to guide trading decisions.

* Work closely with Operations, Treasury, Trade Finance, Risk, and Compliance to ensure smooth transaction execution.

* Ensure trading activities comply with internal limits, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

* Provide management with regular reporting on trading performance, exposures, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

* 7+ years experience in physical oil and/or petroleum products trading, with a proven track record of profitability.

* Previous experience leading a trading desk or team.

* Strong industry network and demonstrated ability to develop sustainable commercial relationships.

* In-depth understanding of physical trading, pricing mechanisms, hedging, logistics, and trade finance.

* Strong commercial judgment and a disciplined approach to risk management.

* Excellent leadership, negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.

* Fluency in both English and Russian is mandatory.
