Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Heavy Diesel Mechanic to take full technical charge of maintaining our fleet of 40+ heavy buses and light commercial vehicles. In this role, you will work closely with the Transport Supervisor and drivers to inspect vehicles, diagnose breakdowns, perform/oversee repairs, verify quality control, and maintain accurate repair documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection & Vehicle Health Checks:
• Accompanied by the driver, inspect vehicles regularly and conduct physical test checks to evaluate vehicle health.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic (air brake), electrical, and heavy-duty AC system issues.
• Breakdown & Root Cause Analysis:
• Identify the exact root cause of any breakdown or performance failure.
• Report findings promptly to the Transport Supervisor, clearly explaining the issue and offering the most cost-effective, durable solution.
• Repair, Parts Management & Quality Control:
• Collect required spare parts directly from the designated Spare Parts Shop and hand them over to the garage mechanic for installation.
• Perform or supervise necessary mechanical and technical repairs (engines, gearboxes, suspension, brakes, AC units).
• Post-repair, thoroughly test-drive and inspect the vehicle to ensure the issue is completely resolved.
• Confirm the fix directly with the driver before releasing the vehicle back into active duty.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Complete job cards, repair logs, and parts usage documentation immediately following every repair or service.
• Keep accurate records of preventive maintenance schedules, spare parts requests, and repair histories.
• Operational Support:
• Follow operational directives from the Transport Supervisor.
• Assist in preparing vehicles for annual RTA/TAMM fitness inspections and safety passes.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Workshop Foreman, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
• Vehicle Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of heavy commercial buses (e.g., Ashok Leyland, Mitsubishi Fuso, Isuzu, Tata, Yutong, King Long) and light commercial vehicles.
• Technical Skills: Expert in heavy diesel engine troubleshooting, air brake systems, clutch/transmission repairs, and heavy-duty bus AC maintenance.
• Communication: Functional spoken English and Hindi/Urdu to communicate effectively with drivers, the Transport Supervisor, and spare parts vendors.
• Education: Technical Diploma, ITI, or Vocational Trade Certificate in Auto Mechanics / Automotive Engineering is a plus.
• Driving License: Valid UAE Manual Driving License (Heavy Vehicle License is a strong advantage).
