General forman- Roads & Utility

Position Overview

The General Foreman – Roads & Utility is responsible for overseeing and coordinating multi-site or multi-sectional operations across road construction, earthworks, paving, drainage, and wet/dry utility network installation. This role acts as a primary operational link between Project Engineers/Site Managers and field foremen/supervisors, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and according to infrastructure engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Supervision & Execution: Direct and oversee site supervisors, foremen, and field crews across road works (flexible/rigid pavement, subgrade, sub-base) and utility installations (stormwater, sewerage, water supply, duct banks).
• Work Scheduling & Resource Allocation: Coordinate daily/weekly work plans, machinery, equipment, materials, and labor allocations to ensure project milestones are met.
• Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, specifically regarding deep trench excavation, traffic management, heavy equipment operations, and confined spaces.
• Quality Control: Inspect ongoing works to ensure compliance with road design drawings, utility authority regulations, site levels, and compaction requirements.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Oversight: Supervise earthworks, asphalt paving, and utility piping subcontractors; verify daily quantities and work logs.
• Problem Solving: Resolve on-site operational bottlenecks, material shortages, and field clashes between road alignments and underlying utility networks.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a General Foreman strictly in Roads & Infrastructure projects (earthworks, asphalt, wet/dry utilities).
• Exclusions: Experience solely in buildings/vertical construction will NOT be considered.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of road layers, survey levels, trenching/shoring safety, pressure/gravity pipe laying, and utility authority guidelines.
• Skills: Excellent leadership, site logistics, heavy machinery coordination, and reading of civil/infrastructure engineering drawings.

Pay: Up to AED10,000.00 per month
