Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough and organized Procurement Officer to oversee the procurement mostly for civil fit-out materials.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Procure construction materials and supplies for civil, MEP, and joinery works.
• Order Management: Manage the complete purchasing process, including issuing purchase orders (POs), tracking deliveries, expediting delayed shipments, and resolving invoice discrepancies or material quality issues.
• Material Estimation: Review technical drawings, take accurate measurements, and calculate material quantities required for construction projects.
• Negotiation and Purchasing: Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and warranties with suppliers to achieve the best value for money.
• Supplier Management: Evaluate supplier performance, maintain updated vendor records, and develop long-term relationships with reliable suppliers.
• Compliance and Documentation: Follow company procurement policies and applicable regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate records of purchases, quotations, pricing, and procurement activities.
• Material Sampling: Source and obtain samples of tiles, sanitary ware, joinery finishes, hardware, and other construction materials for review and approval.
• Procurement Scheduling: Coordinate procurement schedules to ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time and meet project requirements.
• Vendor Coordination: Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
• Purchase Request Review: Review internal purchase requisitions to verify material specifications, quantities, budgets, and delivery requirements before placing orders.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent construction-related technical qualification, attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) as required.
• Proven knowledge of procurement and purchasing for joinery materials, hardware, sanitary ware, tiles, and MEP materials.
• Previous experience in the UAE construction industry is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of procurement procedures, purchasing policies, supplier evaluation, and order management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in material calculations, purchasing, and documentation.
• Strong negotiation, coordination, and supplier relationship management skills.
