Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our healthcare team in Naoero (Nauru). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality pediatric nursing care, monitoring patients' conditions, administering prescribed treatments, and collaborating with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for young patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents.
- Assess patients' health conditions, monitor vital signs, and identify changes requiring medical attention.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and vaccinations in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Assist pediatricians and other doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergency interventions.
- Monitor growth, development, nutritional status, and overall patient progress.
- Recognize and respond promptly to pediatric emergencies and clinical deterioration.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure nursing care as required.
- Educate parents and caregivers on medication administration, nutrition, hygiene, immunization, and home care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, nursing notes, medication charts, and clinical documentation.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures and maintain a safe environment for pediatric patients.
- Provide emotional support to children and their families during treatment and hospitalization.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric hospital or clinical setting.
- Recognized nursing qualification, such as a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Valid nursing licence or professional registration in the home country.
- Proven hands-on experience caring for infants, children, and adolescents.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric assessment, medication administration, and child-specific nursing care.
- Ability to recognize pediatric emergencies and respond appropriately within the scope of practice.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with children and their families.
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Willingness to relocate to Naoero (Nauru).
