Technical Drawing Manager

Palm Living Interiors are seeking an experienced and highly organized Technical Drawing Manager to lead and manage the technical drawing team, oversee the preparation and coordination of engineering drawings, and ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of all design documentation.

The successful candidate will coordinate with design engineers, project managers, consultants, and site teams to ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the technical drawing team, including CAD draftsmen and design technicians.
• Plan, allocate, and monitor drawing workloads to meet project deadlines.
• Review, check, and approve technical drawings before submission.
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, procurement, and site teams to resolve technical issues.
• Manage drawing revisions, document control, and submission schedules.
• Oversee the preparation of shop drawings, detailed drawings, as-built drawings, and construction drawings.
• Ensure proper coordination between architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other relevant disciplines.
• Monitor drawing progress and provide regular updates to project management.
• Identify design conflicts and coordinate solutions with the relevant engineering teams.
• Establish and maintain drawing standards, templates, workflows, and quality-control procedures.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding drawing comments, approvals, and technical clarifications.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Technical Design, or a related field is a bonus but not esssential
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in technical drawing and design coordination, preferably with team management experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant design software.
• Knowledge of technical drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and document control procedures.
• Experience managing drawing teams and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Revit, BIM, or other industry-specific design software.
• Familiarity with drawing management systems and revision-control procedures.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to drawing accuracy and quality.
